SPRAINED ANKLES

Sprained ankles are quite common and yet often receive the worst medical care. A sprain means you have twisted your ankle in a way that partially or completely pulls the tendon loose from its attachment to the Bone. Once this happens it is imperative that the ankle is immobilized in a way to allow the attachment to heal properly and this takes time, sometimes even several weeks. Usually the symptoms of swelling and pain are sometimes ignored or treated with an anti-inflammatory or an Ace bandage all of which are not only inadequate but often deceives the patient into thinking they can continue to walk around. The result is increased injury and delayed healing.

At Integrated Quality Care we deal with all aspects of Orthopedic pain be they acute or chronic. There are many treatments such as Prolozone which ensures a more rapid and effective healing from sprains to tendonitis to arthritis.
